What We Believe
Welcome to the art of spiritual direction where you will experience a sacred time with God.
In a nutshell, spiritual direction is when one person prayerfully, supports and encourages another
person while on their spiritual journey as they attend and respond to the movements of God in
their life.
Spiritual Direction
Our Mission
Breath of life where you will restore your spiritual journey back to life. We welcome women of faith of all ages who are desiring to revive and strengthen their relationship with God. “O taste
and see that the Lord is good.” (Psalms 34:8)
What is Spiritual
Direction?
Spiritual Direction is the process of sharing your faith story – your life experience in relation to God, others, and yourself with a trained Spiritual Director. It is a spiritual journey into the truth
about God, yourself, your relationships, your work, and the world. Spiritual Direction is not therapy or counseling. The goal is to hear the voice of God in your everyday life. Spiritual Direction offers a place to explore prayer practices, meditation, spiritual experiences, and tools for discerning the will of God. It is about listening, being in God’s presence, awareness, and
attentiveness.
Spiritual Director's Role
The director is not an “answer person” but will listen, pray, and provide a sacred, confidential space for the directee to reflect and explore the questions and issues that are of interest and concern for them as it relates to their spiritual growth. The director is primarily interested in the directee experiences of God and how you can follow God’s call; however, the real director is God who initiates and responds. This is a one-on-one relationship.
Directee's Role
To provide the agenda for our conversation…everyday life affairs is material for spiritual direction as one seeks to become more aware of God’s presence in their life. For example, prayer, images of God (how you see God), relationships with others, worries, a celebration of joy, etc. Anything having to do with the spiritual life is an appropriate matter for conversation.
